This week we travel across the pond to chat with Kirsty, an Emergency Department nurse...or as they say in the UK, Accident and Emergency Department nurse. Together, Tina and Kirsty tell the horrific story of the notorious doctor Harold Shipman. Shipman was a general practitioner who was adored by his patients until his patient's son made a disturbing discovery about his practice that went back decades. They close the show with a heart-warming tale of a beautiful Ethiopian Princess who gave up her life of royalty to become a nurse.

***Trigger Warning***This week Q is back to tell a horrific story of a male nurse in Florida who was accused of sexually assaulting multiple patients. This story brings up the discussion of patient dignity and whether or not a patient should have the right to have someone of the same sex be present during patient care that involves bodily exposure.
They close the show discussing Harriet Tubman, who many (including Q), do not know she was a nurse! This is the first in our series of good nurses featuring Black nurses and other medical professionals as part of our commitment to keeping the conversation going.

This week Tina is joined by new grad and TSNA President, Nurse Sam. Sam and Tina tell a story of an oncologist that you just won't believe. They close out the show with a delightful story about a somewhat shy pediatric oncologist who forced herself to be in the limelight for one of her sweet patients.

This is a very special episode. We are participating in the Instagram campaign called #sharethemic by turning over the podcast to a black woman and letting her voice be heard by our audience. Please take a half hour to listen to nursing student, Jehr, speak from her heart.

This week Tina is joined by Kiera and Christina. Fair warning, Tina was Christina's preceptor and Christina was Kiera's preceptor, so we can't promise things won't get a little off track! But somehow they manage to tell the story of a doctor's wife who woke up in the middle of the night to find her husband dead in the TV room....or at least that's her side of the story. They close the show with all three telling stories of nurses who have inspired them.

Nurse Mike with Simple Nursing is joining Tina this week to celebrate 500,000 downloads! A big thank you to all of our listeners for continuing to support our little podcast! In this week's episode Tina and Mike discuss the wildly bizarre story of a medical examiner from west Tennessee who was found in a stairwell bound and gagged with barbed wire. The story only gets stranger from there. They start off the show talking about nurses around the country who are being called off and either made to use PTO or don't get paid but aren't being let out of their contracts. They close the show with a wonderfully endearing story about a retired nurse who collected all sorts of different medicine caps and made a beautiful work of art.
